Yes. Obesity is a complex, chronic disease linked to more than 200 health problems, and it can be treated with modern methods under medical supervision.

Ozempic acts on one hormone, GLP-1, while Mounjaro acts on two, GLP-1 and GIP. Average weight loss in trials was higher with Mounjaro, but the choice depends on each patient.

Usually if your BMI is 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure. The final decision follows a medical assessment.
Do I have to stay on the medicine for life?
Not necessarily. Each patient gets a plan for the stage after reaching their goal, which may include tapering the dose, because stopping suddenly can bring some weight back.
